Professor Sabyasachi Bhattacharya is a condensed matter physicist and serves as a Distinguished Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai where he was previously the Director. He currently serves on the Editoiral Board of Reports on Progress in Physics (Institute of  Physics, UK), the Council of the Indian Institutes of Technology, India and on the Technology Advisory Council of British Petroleum.
