A discussion on liberalism in the subcontinent

On April 17, Gateway House hosted author Tarek Fatah for a lunch meeting to discuss ‘liberalism in the subcontinent.’

Moderated by Manjeet Kripalani, Executive Director, Gateway House, the interaction focused on the rise of Islamic fundamentalism in Pakistan, terrorism, repercussions of the partition of British India, and India-Pakistan relations.

Manjeet Kripalani is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations.

Tarek Fateh is a Pakistani-Canadian writer and broadcaster, and a secular Muslim anti-Islamist activist. Presently, he hosts the Tarek Fatah Show for CFRB 1010, and has a weekly column in the Toronto Sun. He has also authored two books: Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State, and The Jew Is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Semitism.
