Atlantic Council Global Trends 2030

On Friday, October 5th, Gateway House hosted an all-day workshop with the Strategic Foresight Initiative of the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think tank and a pre-eminent, non-partisan institution that focuses on transatlantic relationships and international security. The focus of the workshop was on theGlobal Trends 2030 report, authored by the Atlantic Council and its affiliates, which focuses on the global game-changers that will affect the international arena in the next 20 years. Among these trends, the report highlights the increasing importance of food and water security, the rapid changes in technology and the inability of governments to manage that change, as well as urbanization on a grand scale.

Gateway House scholars and members presented their analyses of the global financial crises, the Arab uprisings and various aspects of India’s foreign policy.
