Manjeet Kripalani, director and co-founder of Gateway House, delivered the keynote address at the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, Bengaluru at their first inter-school Model United Nations conference on 26 August.
She spoke to the students and teachers about women in politics and how India can lead the change in altering the gender imbalance in the foreign policy domain. From how it lead the first ever all-women UN peacekeeping force, to a foreign services division that has become increasingly open and welcoming to women, India has been a leading example in changing global norms. She also spoke about how women must strive to be an integral part of foreign policy formation and young women today must make the most of opportunities to enter careers in international affairs and foreign policy.
