In the recently concluded 4th Indo-U.S. Strategic Dialogue, the two countries reiterated their commitment to facilitate greater two-way trade and investment. Both sides also acknowledged the importance of growing trade and investment in strengthening the bilateral relationship.

On June 25, Gateway House hosted Fred P. Hochberg, Chairman and President, Export-Import Bank, U.S., in conversation with K. N. Vaidyanathan, Chief Risk Officer, Mahindra & Mahindra; Senior Geoeconomics Fellow, Gateway House,  to discuss the potential of the growing economic and trade partnership between the two countries, and the importance of developing robust business-to-business relations.

Fred P. Hochberg is the Chairman and President at the Export-Import Bank, U.S. He accompanied the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at the Indo-U.S. Strategic Dialogue held on June 24. From 2004 to 2008, Hochberg was dean of Milano, The New School for Management and Urban Policy in New York. Hochberg is a past board member of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Citizens Budget Commission, and FINCA International Micro Finance. He was also an appointed representative to the New York State Financial Control Board.

K. N. Vaidyanathan is the Chief Risk Officer at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and former Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Prior to this assignment, he was Chief Executive Officer in Alchemy Capital Management Pvt. Ltd. An MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Vaidyanathan has held senior positions in MphasiS, Morgan Stanley Asset Management, and HSBC.
