On April 24, Gateway House hosted a 19-member delegation from the National Defense College of Philippines, to discuss the opportunities and challenges pertaining to India’s rise as a key global power,and India’s influence in the Indian Ocean region. Furthermore, they also discussed ways for Philippines and India to increase bilateral engagements.
The delegation was led by Professor Charithie Joaquim, and this visit was part of the ‘National Security Management’ module of their course.
The discussion was followed by an interactive session between the delegates and Sameer Patil, Associate Fellow, National Security, Ethnic Conflict and Terrorism, Gateway House; Reshma Patil, Associate Fellow, East Asian Studies, Gateway House; David Brewster, Senior Australia Maritime Fellow, Gateway House; and Manjeet Kripalani, Executive Director, Gateway House.
