Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, was on a state visit to India. He visited Delhi, where he met with the EAM, the PM and President, where they discussed the $400 million Line of Credit offered by India for infrastructure. Rajapaksa was aiming to negotiate debt restructuring and get a moratorium on loan payments for the next 3 years.
On subsequent days, he visited Varanasi, Bodh Gaya and Tirupati.
