H.E. Mr. Khaltmaagiin Battulga, President of the Republic of Mongolia, paid a State Visit to India. He was accompanied by Mr. Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Foreign Minister; Mr. Byambasuren Enkhamgalan, Minister of Road & Transport Development, other senior officials, and a 25-member business delegation. Besides the official engagements in Delhi, President Battulga travelled to Agra, Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Bengaluru.
The Mongolian President held talks with President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narender Modi, Vice President and Minister of State External Affairs. The leaders noted that India-Mongolia relations were based on the strong foundation of shared Buddhist heritage and values of freedom and democracy. The Indian side expressed confidence that the visit of President Battulga will help broaden and deepen the Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Mongolia underlined their support for fighting terrorism. They also conveyed their decision to join the International Solar Alliance. Mongolia also announced a visa on arrival scheme for Indian travelers. An additional line of credit of US $ 236 million to the earlier announced line of credit of US $ 1 billion was announced for the ongoing petrochemical refinery project in Mongolia. Four MoU’s were also signed between the countries in the field of culture, disaster management, space and agriculture.
