India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be travelling to Beijing from January 31-February 3 to attend the Russia-India-China trilateral meet.
This is India’s BJP government’s first high-level visit to China since assuming power in June 2014.
Sushma Swaraj will also hold bilateral talks with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The Russia-India-China trilateral talks were scheduled for July 2014 but had been postponed due Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hectic diplomatic outreach schedule along India’s neighbourhood.
