On 21 April 2022, Sifra Lentin, Bombay History Fellow, conducted a lecture on the Jews of Bombay and North Konkan: A history of transnational trade, lost tribes and a proud military heritage. This event was organised by the Museum Society of Mumbai in collaboration with the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya.
She traced the cultural history and legacy of the Indian Jewish communities in the city of Mumbai. The lecture touched upon their heritage, stretching from the Biblical times to the Middle Ages, and a detailed historical account of the Bene Israel and Baghdadi Jews in India.
