On November 07, 2022 Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, Professorial Fellow in Economics and Trade, Gateway House participated in a panel discussion on ‘Sri Lanka’s future pathway’ at Overseas Development Institute (ODI). The event was moderated and chaired by Dr. Dirk Willem te Velde,Director of International Economic Development Group, ODI. Other panellists include Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Vinod Hirdaramani, Dr. Sonali Deraniyagala and Sherillyn Raga.
The panel discussion focused on three key issues: current situation in Sri Lanka- explaining economic crisis and key characteristics, future options for inclusive economic transformation and new IMF programme, and the need for national and international policies to help developing countries mitigate the impact of multiple macroeconomic shocks.
