Global Minds Essay Competition
Who can save the Sundarbans?
Gateway House sponsored its first Global Minds Essay Contest, which was open to any student in India aged 15-19 years. A panel comprising Bittu Sahgal (Environmentalist & Editor, Sanctuary), Vijay Crishna (Director, Godrej Group), Ambassador Neelam Deo (formerly Ministry of External Affairs; Gateway House) and Smita Parekh (Director, Mahindra United World College of India) determined the winners.
The first place winner receives the opportunity to accompany a research team to the Sundarbans as part of a Gateway House term members trip in February/March 2011 OR a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. The second place winner receives a cash prize of Rs. 2,500. The third place winner receives a cash prize of Rs. 1,500. All three finalists will receive a certificate.
