MUMBAI: India on Wednesday (Nov 26) marked the sixth anniversary of the Mumbai attacks which left 166 people dead and hundreds injured.
Six years on, the memories of the four-day siege on the country’s financial capital in 2008 still haunt the hearts and minds of its victims. Life has come to a standstill for Sabira Khan since the former teacher was bedridden after being hit by a bomb blast at Mumbai’s Dockyard Road.
Since then, she has been through five operations to recover from injuries to her legs. But the costly medical fees have taken its toll on Sabira and her family despite receiving compensation from the authorities. She is angry that the government is not providing more financial help to her.
