Less than a fortnight ahead of the Nuclear Suppliers Group’s meeting in Seoul on June 23-24, foreign secretary S Jaishankar has expressed optimism about obtaining support from China that has been leading the group of countries blocking India’s entry to the club.
“Diplomacy is an optimistic profession,” Jaishankar said in response to an ET query on how hopeful India was to get China’s support for NSG membership. He was speaking at the Gateway of India Dialogue organised by his ministry and Mumbai-based foreign policy think-tank Gateway House.
