Protests across Europe

Discontent over high energy prices, spiralling living costs, and anti war sentiments have gripped Europe, resulting in protests and civil unrest across the continent. With no immediate solution in sight, public resentment is likely to intensify through the coming winter months

Since June, both Eastern and Western Europe have seen an increase in civil unrest due high energy prices and high inflation. These vulnerabilities are the result of severe western sanctions imposed on Russian energy flowing into Europe, subsequent to the invasion of Ukraine. With energy prices up 50%[1] and inflation in the Eurozone hitting 10%[2], protests will likely only increase as Europe approaches the winter months without the usual affordable natural gas from Russia in sight.

This infographic follows the protests across Europe.
